This design proposes Cumhuriyet Square and Atatürk Street as a centre of attraction that embodies all the rhythms of urban life with social and cultural activities. This proposal has also been developed on the lively, dynamic public open spaces, integrated with the historical texture and art, and the water, which has been given different features in the whole design continuity. Thus, on the one hand, obtaining urban spaces that define a lively, dynamic public open space integrated with the existing historical texture and art, on the other hand, the street design, which is pedestrianized with the continuity of WATER, is one of the first settlements of Mersin and its spatial texture is a public interaction for the citizens again. It is also intended to be a communication area. The continuity of WATER and the ground, which forms the backbone, opens up to the square along with the proposed green spaces, seating areas, shade and food and beverage stops along Atatürk Street, which is proposed to be pedestrianised.
